The Sports Prototype Cup has announced its 2024 calendar, featuring more races than ever for a wider range of lightweight prototypes. The Cup features the crème de la crème of European circuits to ensure an unforgettable and challenging racing experience. The season offers a perfect blend of sprint and endurance races, ample track time, varied formats and options for solo and two-driver entries.

Five strong seasons of growth has seen the Cup grow from being a UK based championship to a series of international collaborations on world championship level circuits. This gives owners of prototypes such as Radicals, Revolutions, Pragas and selected LMP/CN type cars the opportunity to race on ‘bucket-list’ circuits. The collaboration model means the Cup drivers race alongside well-established local championships in other countries, providing a bigger grid of cars.

Going Dutch

Our partnership with the superbly organised V-Max group which enabled us to race at Spa last year on a prototype-only grid has expanded. Cup drivers will race alongside their new Superlight Challenge for local prototypes at two Zandvoort events and at the ‘Cathedral of Speed’, the Assen MotoGP circuit. The fast flowing curves of Assen are perfect for high downforce cars and will bring a fresh challenge for our drivers. These events will feature three races at each meeting.

Favourite 2023 circuits return

The opportunity to race on the most famous circuits in the world is one of the reasons why an increasing number of prototype drivers are choosing to race in the Cup. Spa returns for a summer date, with two 60-minute races, with a return to Le Mans for a triple-header season closer. A sprint double-header at Donington completes the 2024 calendar, using the Grand Prix circuit and sharing with Zeo Prototypes to build a full UK grid.

USA v Europe

2023 saw the launch of Sports Prototype Cup North America with events at top USA and Canadian circuits. To strengthen this partnership, European drivers will be invited to join one of their flagship events on the famous Watkins Glen circuit in New York state.

Revitalised class structure

Our Revolution Trophy returns with all variants of the carbon-fibre, high downforce prototype eligible, from the normally aspirated 427 to the supercharged 500SC. Revolution will be offering a premium arrive and drive race hire service at all events. https://www.revolutionracecars.com/arriveanddrive. This is one of the easiest ways of racing on Europe’s greatest circuits with first-class technical and coaching support.

Revolution’s commitment to the Cup extends to their purchase package. When drivers purchase a Revolution, whether it's brand new or used, Revolution covers the entry costs to the 2024 Cup.

Our Radical Trophy and Open class will be merged to create two new categories: Sports Prototype Light for the Radical SR3 and other marques and models of similar performance and Sports Prototype Open for the Radical SR8, SR10, RXC and Praga R1. Applications from CN or LMP type cars will be considered on a case by case basis depending on local homologations.
