Revolution joins the World stage

Revolution joins the World stage

-  Spa WEC support slot highlight of first full season for Revolution

-  Revolution UK Trophy class - 13 race season planned

-  Revolution test drive programme announced

The Sports Prototype Cup's Revolution Trophy will be showcased on the world stage with a ‘guest class’ supporting the FIA World Endurance Championship at the majestic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in April next year. This will be the highlight of the first full season for the Revolution A-One after three trial races in 2019.

The opportunity for Revolution drivers to race at Spa-Francorchamps is thanks to the Sports Prototype Cup's close collaboration with Britcar, who run the long-established Dunlop Endurance Championship. The Revolution cars will be entered in a ‘guest class’ and share the Belgian Grand Prix circuit with Britcar's regular entrants for two 50-minute races. The unique event runs from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th April, with qualifying on Thursday, and the two races on Friday and Saturday in front of tens of thousands of endurance racing fans.  The Spa-Francorchamps races will be part of an impressive 13-race calendar for Revolution drivers, which also includes five other venues including the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. At those circuits, the Revolutions will race within the Sports Prototype Cup alongside the BARC Radical SR3 Trophy.

The Revolution is a Le Mans Prototype style, carbon tubbed, high downforce prototype. The 440 bhp per tonne performance coupled with the quality, design and technology of the Revolution has begun to establish it as one of the leading premium prototype cars on the market.

Revolution has a five-year agreement with the Sports Prototype Cup to have a dedicated class and ultimately build a stand-alone championship for the innovative car, as James Bailey, Sports Prototype Cup Promoter, explained:  "The Revolution fits neatly between a Radical SR3 and an LMP3 car in terms of performance. A stunning car deserves a great racing calendar, and we are proud to have this opportunity to race at Spa-Francorchamps on the same weekend as the FIA World Endurance Championship. Since starting the Sports Prototype Cup, we have benefited from the kind support and guidance of Claire Hedley and her Britcar team. We are proud to join their guest class for this one-off event as well as having our own stand-alone races on the same day as many of their Dunlop Endurance Championship's premium UK race events."
